How difficult would it be to fix the donate a meter. I am not sure what your donations are like now, but fixing it may encourage some donations.

Just a thought.

I have struggled with it. If anyone out there knows how to fix it, I'm all ears.

I don't know PHP at all, so I scour the internet looking for fixes. I see a lot of people with the same problems, and I see some with it working, but I can only find "try this" colutions, not the definitive one.

Any ideas?

What might be interesting, although it might be too cutting edge, is to try and get some financial support for the server through advertising. Nothing huge, but maybe a logo that gets displayed before and after a match. Might be worth looking into. I don't think many of the bigger stodgier companies would be willing to do that, but I think it's something that some smaller companies might see the value in. Particularly with UT07 and the massive requirements it surely will take to handle huge numbers of players -- I'm thinking we will start to see this more regularly.

That's actually a really good idea. Why wouldn't say a video card company want to have their logo appear every time a map starts? And with the traffic we get? That's a lot of captive players.

Is the google Ads section that replaced private messages providing you a source of funding?

Not yet it isn't. And I doubt it ever will, but I figured it couldn't hurt to see what happened. I doubt most people have even noticed it, never mind clicked on anything.

Losing the PM section was a coincidence. I was trying to streamline the website a little more, and apparently it disappeared. I'll put it back, but in the mean time, it's still in the navigation bar.

So what needs to be done with that goole bar for you get get money for the servers? I have no problem clicking on the ads and seeing what they are about to help you out.

Going back to the original subject, is the donato-metre working now it still says no donations have been made but im now seeings numbers come up with names ???
